An energy storage battery is a device used to store electrical energy and release it when needed. It usually consists of one or more battery cells that store electrical energy as chemical or potential energy. When electricity needs to be released, the energy storage battery converts the stored electricity into electrical output. Energy storage batteries can be used in various applications, including power reserve, grid load balancing, and sudden load response, etc., and are one of the key devices to achieve stable output of renewable energy power. Common types of energy storage batteries include lead-acid batteries, nickel-cadmium batteries, nickel-metal hydride batteries, lithium-ion batteries.
